DC and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have unveiled a new look at Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl, one of the playable characters for the upcoming GothamKnights video game and if it wasn't obvious enough, her new video game look pays homage to Batgirl's Burnside colors from her 2014 comic run. The color scheme, which somehow resembles Barbara's costume in the 1960s Batman television series is already both an easter egg and a treat in itself.

Now, DC has given gamers an official guide to becoming Batgirl, especially to the folks who want to play the iconic Batman sidekick in the game which also features Robin, Red Robin, and Red Hood. The image gives a quick rundown on Batgirl's video game costume which again is a sight to behold. We still know very little about her abilities in the game but judging by the preview we saw last August, Babs looks to be a character that fans shouldn't sleep on. Check out the official image here:

It came as a should shock to a lot of gamers when the Gotham Knights video game was officially announced during the inaugural DC FanDome, especially to those who were hoping to see a new Batman game that will continue the Arkham series but still, it's a welcome surprise from the folks over at DC. I mean, let's be real here, it's something fresh and interesting and I think it's actually a wise move on their part to finally put the spotlight on other characters from the Bat-family. The real question is, will it be able to live up to the hype or even surpass the success of the Arkham game series? We'll find out soon.

Gotham Knights will debut in 2021.
