It's been a pretty rough couple of days for former The Mandalorian actress Gina Carano who was fired by Lucasfilm over her "offensive" and "tasteless" social media posts. On the bright side, Carano has apparently found herself some pretty formidable allies, and following her controversial removal from the Star Wars franchise, the actress is now looking straight to the future.

In a stunning new development, Carano has apparently signed up to do a film project with Ben Shapiro's website The Daily Wire. Now, Carano, who is seemingly free from her shackles is finally breaking her silence after her newsmaking termination from the Star Wars franchise.

In an exclusive interview with Deadline, Gina revealed that Shapiro and his team have approached her for a project which would be her directed, produced, and also starred by her. and it was an opportunity she certainly couldn't refuse. The ex-Cara Dune actress also fired back at her detractors and threw major shade at Lucasfilm.

Carano said: "The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered. I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can't cancel us if we don't let them."

The Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro also spoke with Deadline about the partnership and even the controversial American commentator slammed Disney for their unjust treatment of the actress. "We could not be more excited to be working with Gina Carano, an incredible talent dumped by Disney and Lucasfilm for offending the authoritarian Hollywood Left. This is what Daily Wire exists to do: provide an alternative not just for consumers, but for creators who refuse to bow to the mob," Shapiro said.

I don't know exactly what runs through Carano's mind these days but it's looking pretty evident that she's ready to stand up for what she truly believes in without having to answer to anyone. I'm all for freedom of speech and expression but I certainly hope Carano uses her platform more responsibly this time around, even though it looks like her actions will just be tolerated by Shapiro and his crew.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian's third season is set to begin filming this April.
