Long before Kevin Feige announced Marvel Studios' plans to reboot the Fantastic Four, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been pleading with the powers that be to cast John Krasinski and Emily Blunt as Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman. The husband-and-wife tandem is already no stranger to being part of the MCU conversation and in fact, they've come close to getting cast in the franchise in the past.

If you may recall, Blunt has met with Marvel Studios on two separate occasions about joining the MCU and potentially playing either Peggy Carter or Natasha Romanoff but negotiations went nowhere. The third time could be the charm but the star of Disney's Jungle Cruise has seemingly soured on the idea of playing a superhero. Last May, Emily expressed her lack of interest despite the clamor from fans.

Now, in a new interview, the actress stays firm with her previous statement and says that the superhero life doesn't really appeal to her. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the star of A Quiet Place reiterated that she doesn't want to star in a comic book film project. She said: "I really understand that [superhero movies] are like a religion for a lot of people. They don’t appeal to me in the same way. I don’t have this burning desire to play a superhero."

I've always been behind the idea of Blunt and Krasinski leading the Fantastic Four reboot but I guess we can't have everything in this world. It's a complete shame given the fact that John is still showing interest in joining the MCU and it almost feels like the roles of Reed Richards and Sue Storm were tailor-made for them.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot is currently under development.
