It looks like The CW's live-action adaptation of The Powerpuff Girls is doomed to fail from the start. A few months back, it was announced that the series' pilot had to be scrapped because the story just didn't click and the writers had to go back to the drawing board to come up with something new. This week, the PPG curse seems to continue as one of its lead stars Chloe Bennet shockingly dropped out of the project.

Key details about Chloe's exit from the show remain scarce for now but according to reports, the actress is citing "scheduling conflicts" as her main reason for leaving the project. Considering she has long been attached to the project, the reason the actress stated seems a little intriguing and as far as we know, she's not doing other projects outside Powerpuff. Naturally, this led fans to speculate on social media and many of them believe Bennet's withdrawal from the series sets up her return to the Marvel realm. Check out the reactions here:

Of course, the actress is best known for her role as Daisy Johnson aka Quake in the now-defunct Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series and you've been closely following the latest rumors, it is being reported that the show will be getting a revival over at Marvel Studios, officially making its characters canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The idea of Bennet joining the billion-dollar franchise doesn't seem too farfetched to believe since Quake already has a strong following. But if you'd ask me, I think her exit from the Powerpuff has something to do with the project itself which, again, I believe is destined to fail from the get-go.

No word yet as to when The Powerpuff Girls will drop its premiere episode.
