A lot of Marvel fans were stunned after learning that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Erin Kellyman is openly gay. The newcomer actor is currently making waves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Karli Morgenthau aka the Flag-Smasher in the hit Disney+ series and playing the character has got to be her biggest acting break yet.
We reported last night that a lot of people were taken by surprise when they discovered the 22-year-old actress' true sexual orientation. Naturally, fans took to social media to offer their two cents about it but thankfully, there hasn't been any negative reaction about it and if anything, the entire MCU fandom was even supportive of Kellyman and her identity.
After the internet learned about her sexuality, the actress took to her own social media platform to address the matter. Posting a clip on her Instagram stories, Kellyman along with her girlfriend Jordan O'Coy jokingly trolled fans and the gay community because they only knew about her gender identity now. She wrote: "Don't think we didn't see Twitter... IDK why it took you gays so long." Check it out here:
I honestly couldn't care less what she identifies herself as and the only thing that matters is she's happy about living her life without having to feel any pressure from anyone. And come on, it's already 2021, it's not like it's a big deal whether or not she's gay. As long as she's doing her part to spread awareness about it and use her influence to become an advocate for the community then I see nothing wrong about it. You do you, Erin!
