It took us six long years but it finally happened, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially made Wanda Maximoff's comic book alias Scarlet Witch canon much to the delight of WandaVision's viewers, and now, there's no more doubt that Elizabeth Olsen's character is on her way to realizing her full potential.
Olsen has been part of the billion-dollar franchise for such a long time now that she can already be considered an MCU veteran. It can't be denied that her involvement in the world of Marvel has elevated her career and even helped her get out of the shadows of her equally famous and iconic sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley aka the Olsen twins.
Naturally, Olsen's family is proud of her achievements and her affiliation with Marvel but apparently, her mother has been calling her character by the wrong name all these years. During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Lizzie hilariously opened up about her mom and how she's always referred to her Marvel character as the "Red Witch".
She explains: "My mom just told me the other day that she's been calling me the Red Witch for the last, she said, four years but I think I've been doing this for six or seven and she just learned that I was called the Scarlet Witch last week." Check out the interview here:
If it wasn't evident enough, Marvel Studios has some serious plans laid out for Maximoff and it doesn't take a genius to realize that she'll play a major factor in Phase 4. The real question is, what role will she end up playing? While previous episodes of WandaVision have seemingly debunked theories about Wanda becoming the MCU's next big villain, previous rumors have stated that the "madness" in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has something to do with Maximoff herself.
