After years in developmental hell, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Black Adam project has finally started production and you know what they say, it's better late than never. The highly-anticipated superhero film which was first announced to be in development in 2007 is set to bring the Man in Black to the big screen but more than anything, the former WWE champion and multi-platform megastar is ready to lay the smackdown in the DC Extended Universe and give us a taste of what exactly Shazam's arch-nemesis is capable of.

It still remains unclear up to this point how exactly the plot for the project will play out and the way it affects the entire course of the DCEU considering it's set in a different time period but if you're a long-time follower of the comics, you would know that Black Adam will be up to no good and he may very well be a thorn in the side of the Justice Society of America. Or is he actually fighting the same battles they are fighting?

The actual production for the project was supposedly going to kickstart last year but the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic was responsible for plans getting halted. Now, the Brahma Bull is ready to kick some you-know-what as he "FINALLY" came back to Atlanta to begin filming along with the other cast members. Instagram page @atlanta_filming posted an image of the Hollywood stud as he arrived in the Georgia city looking jacked as hell. Check out the image here.

It's great that Johnson didn't give up on the project despite the hurdles he and his crew encountered along the way but at long last, cameras have begun rolling for the film. It just goes to show how committed The Rock truly is with completing the project and let's be real here, DC and Warner Bros. scored major gold on casting arguably the biggest actor in the world today and I certainly hope Black Adam becomes a success. If there's anyone who can turn things around for the franchise, it's definitely the most electrifying man in all of entertainment.

Black Adam is slated for release in 2022.
