Hold on to the edge of your seats as this new bit of information will surely intrigue you. Star Wars might have just confirmed what avid fanatics of Disney+'s The Mandalorian have been theorizing about since the show's first season. The now-famous theory suggests that the reason behind the Imperials' hot pursuit of The Child aka Baby Yoda is because they have actual plans of cloning the mystical creature, potentially creating an army of him in the future.

Lucasfilms' The Star Wars Book (via ScreenRant) offers brand new information that could potentially support the aforementioned cloning theory. One section from the book writes: "Rumors spread of Imperial attempts to create clones of unique species." Now, it's worth noting that The Child's name wasn't actually dropped in the book but it's pretty safe to assume that they're in fact talking about Baby Yoda considering he's part of a unique breed of species with untapped potential.

This makes The Mandalorian Season 2 even more thrilling if you ask me. The events of the first season pretty much revolved around Mando discovering The Child and protecting from the Imperials and other beings in the galaxy who are after him. The stakes couldn't get any higher especially now that Mando is well aware of how interested they are with the creature. What if the Imperials end up becoming successful in acquiring Baby Yoda? Could you imagine how powerful multiple clones of him would be? Let's see what happens in Season 2.
