Darth Vader Actor David Prowse Reportedly Died Due to COVID-19 Complications

The passing of Star Wars veteran David Prowse over the weekend sent shockwaves which were as massive as the Death Star throughout the entire geek community and while it wasn't clear at first what caused his demise, a new report sheds light on what exactly happened to the 85-year-old acting legend and former bodybuilder who passed away last Saturday.

According to a new scoop from The Sun, Prowse died due to complications from his COVID-19 diagnosis. The Darth Vader actor was hospitalized for two weeks. The news was confirmed by Prowse's daughter. Other details about his death were not disclosed.

The entire Star Wars community is mourning the passing of Prowse who brought life to the iconic Darth Vader character which debuted in 1977's Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. His colleagues, from Mark Hamill to George Lucas himself have all paid tribute to the British actor and his contribution to the franchise will forever be cherished. Rest easy, David Prowse.
