Amber Heard has been on the wrong side of the DC Extended Universe fandom for quite some time now and ever since her personal issues with her ex-husband Johnny Depp gained mainstream attention, fans have been demanding the powers that be (Warner Bros. and DC Films) to take the actions necessary to ensure that the actress doesn't return in the second Aquaman film.

Obviously, that's not the case and despite all of the controversies Amber is currently facing, the studio intends to keep her in the DCEU and much to the chagrin of her critics, she is still set to reprise her role as Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom which has already kickstarted production earlier this month. Just this week, director James Wan drew flak on social media after he welcomed Amber back to the franchise.

Unsurprisingly, not a lot of people were thrilled over the official confirmation that Amber is returning to Atlantis. Taking to Twitter, dismayed fans threatened to boycott Aquaman 2 if Warner Bros. continues to keep the ever-so-controversial actress on board. Check out the reactions below:

The thing is, all of the allegations thrown at Amber have yet to be proven and so far, it's looking like she has the upper hand although next year's court trials will reportedly be the deciding factor. In the event that things go south for her, there's no doubt that the actress will be in a world of trouble and it's safe to assume that Johnny Depp's fans will stop at nothing until she pays for her "sins".

Meanwhile, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set for release in December 2022.
