DC and Star Wars director Patty Jenkins has never been a people-pleaser it seems and just a few days after she completely turned down the idea of directing her own Netflix project, the Wonder Woman filmmaker is once again making headlines after her choice of words regarding films that are released straight to streaming.

During her appearance at the 2021 CinemaCon (via ComicBook), Jenkins criticized the entire concept of straight-to-streaming movies and went as far as calling them "fake". She said: "
All of the films that streaming services are putting out, I’m sorry, they look like fake movies to me. I don’t hear about them, I don’t read about them. It’s not working as a model for establishing legendary greatness."

Unsurprisingly, Patty's controversial statement didn't sit well with a lot of people, especially the folks who also work in the film industry. After her comments were made public, the director quickly became a hot topic on social media and it's safe to say that she's currently on the fans' hitlist. On Twitter, Jenkins was lambasted by users who even mocked Wonder Woman 1984 for being outperformed by straight-to-streaming films. Check out some of the reactions below:

Many fans have known Jenkins for her no-nonsense attitude and straightforwardness but clearly, there are times when she goes way overboard with her choice of words. Of course, she's not someone who is out vying for a Miss Popular award but I hope she finally realizes that there needs to be a filter between her brain and her mouth.

I mean, she wouldn't want to burn bridges considering streaming is hot right now and most certainly, she wouldn't want to develop enemies from her own circle. Hollywood is small after all.

Meanwhile, details about Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron are still being kept under wraps.
