Captain Marvel Actor Lobbies Hard for Green Lantern Role

News broke out last week that the folks over at HBO Max have finally greenlit a GreenLantern series which will feature a who's who of characters from the Lantern Corps, including the fan-favorite Guy Gardner. Now, assuming that the casting process has yet to begin, one actor from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is already volunteering and wants to jump ship to the DC Extended Universe to play the second human to ever wield the Green Lantern ring.

Captain Marvel actor Robert Kazinsky expressed his desire to portray Gardner in the upcoming project and it looks like he's dead serious about getting involved in the series. Kazinsky didn't really have a major role in the 2019 Marvel film, only appearing in one hilarious scene with Brie Larson during the film's first act. Taking to Twitter with a side by side photo of him and the fan-favorite comic book character, he wrote: "I don't often talk about jobs I want, I usually just go about quietly not getting them, but, ya know, been talking about this asshole for a decade. #GuyGardner"

Even though the project was announced just last week, I personally think DC and HBO Max should already begin working on the show's ensemble considering they're going to feature a lot of heroes (and villains) in the said project. Meanwhile, it's also looking pretty obvious that the HBO streaming service is being established as DC's answer to Marvel's Disney+, and while it would raise some eyebrows, I don't see anything wrong with that because a little friendly competition is always good and as comic book fans, all of us need alternatives. That being said, I hope HBO Max's DC ventures end up becoming a success. It's a major win for us all.

Other details about the upcoming Green Lantern series have yet to be disclosed.
