Major changes will be felt in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with some characters expected to step up their game. Of course, Sam Wilson aka The Falcon and Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier are two of the heroes who will undoubtedly bring a fresh new feel to feel to the franchise now that they're no longer playing second fiddle to Captain America.
Disney+'s upcoming MCU spinoff series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier just released an exciting new trailer that premiered during Super Bowl LV and it's packed with all the goodies to get any Marvel fan hyped for its eventual arrival.
For the uninitiated, TFATWS will revolve around Sam Wilson's journey to becoming the MCU's next star-spangled hero after Steve Rogers himself anointed him with his vibranium shield during the emotional ending of Avengers: Endgame. When you think about it, Wilson is definitely a good choice to take over for Cap but a lot of fans are convinced that the honor should go to Bucky.
One sequence from the newly-released teaser briefly shows Sebastian Stan catching the iconic red, white, and blue shield and I gotta say, he looks good wielding it. A lot of fans feel the same way and some of them firmly believe that Barnes is a more deserving candidate. See the reactions here:
Now, I do understand where some fans are coming from as Bucky was once upon a time a strong contender to be the MCU's next Captain America considering his history with his good old pal Steve. I've always thought that making him Cap could serve as his road to redemption after being brainwashed by Hydra for a number of years but I guess, nothing about Bucky truly represents what Captain America stood for all these years.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier hits Disney+ this March.
