There's been a long-standing debate within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as to which character is the top dog in the franchise. When you think about it, there are a lot of strong candidates in the current MCU roster — from Thor to Doctor Strange but Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige stunned everyone when in 2019, he endorsed Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch as the strongest Avenger in existence.
This obviously doesn't come as a surprise anymore as it's evident that Feige is a strong supporter of the character, even giving actress Elizabeth Olsen the honor of opening the MCU's fourth phase. However, a new rumor suggests that one Marvel star is adamant about snagging the title away from the WandaVision star.
A new report from Daniel Richtman claims that Brie Larson wants the "Strongest Avenger" title to be given to Captain Marvel which isn't going to be that complicated considering Wanda is being rumored to be the next big villain in the franchise. In his Patreon scoop, the tipster said: "Brie Larson wants to make sure Cap Marvel stays the strongest hero in MCU. Wanda doesn't count bc she is turning into a villain."
Of course, you can't take anything away from Carol Danvers as she's always been considered a major player in the MCU. Now, whether or not the rumor surrounding Brie's desire for Captain Marvel to be hailed as the Strongest Avenger is actually true, I think we can all agree that she's got a fighting chance. I honestly would be down to see her and Wanda go at it in a future Marvel project, that would be darn epic.
Meanwhile, Brie Larson is set to make her MCU return in The Marvels.
