Things aren't looking all that great for critically-acclaimed actor Armie Hammer who is currently under fire for allegedly being involved in an Instagram scandal. The Call MeBy Your Name star is being accused of sending out sensitive and malicious messages to some of his followers on the photo-sharing platform.

The controversy started to blow up when several victims turned up on social media claiming that the actor sent them malicious DMs, asking them for sex. In one of the leaked DMs, there's a message wherein Hammer claims that he's "100% a cannibal" and would love to literally eat one of the unidentified victims. The alleged exchanges would later surface on Twitter and they're totally NSFW. Check it out here:

The issue reportedly forced the former Batman frontrunner who was originally cast to star in the shelved Justice League: Mortal project as the Dark Knight to officially drop out of his upcoming film with Jennifer Lopez titled Shotgun Wedding. Denying the allegations in an official statement he sent out to The Hollywood Reporter, Armie said: "I'm not responding to these bullsh*t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I'm grateful to them for that."

The accusations towards the actor have yet to be verified so we better think twice before reacting to the now-viral DMs. With today's technology, there's a huge chance that the alleged messages were just fabricated to make it seem the way they are. However, if the issue turns out to be true, Hammer will be in a world of trouble and it could end up tarnishing his career.

Meanwhile, the Snyder Cut of Justice League is hitting HBO Max this March.
