A lot of people were worried about the future of the Black Panther franchise following the shocking death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020 but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige removed all doubt and uncertainty, confirming that the supposed sequel will still push through.

Feige announced during Marvel Studios' presentation at the 2020 Disney Investor Day that Black Panther 2 will still happen. According to him, the sequel will explore the wonders of Wakanda and although he didn't exactly confirm whether T'Challa will be replaced by a new hero or not, it's already safe to assume that plans will call for a new Wakandan warrior to take the helm.

Fans have been arguing for months now as to which character should succeed T'Challa. The obvious choice would be Letitia Wright but some rumors claim that Winston Duke is also a strong contender for the role.

People are also calling for Michael B. Jordan's Killmonger to be resurrected in the film and get his redemption arc as the next King of Wakanda. New art from digital artist @ultraraw26 imagines the once villainous Killmonger as the new protector of Wakanda and I gotta say, it totally works. Check it out here:

We still know very little about the film at this point but you can best believe that BlackPanther 2 will be an emotional ride and a fitting send-off to the late Chadwick Boseman. As for Jordan replacing him in the sequel, out of all the "contenders" vying for the role, I think he's the best pick and as I said, Killmonger's redemption arc would be great to see.

Black Panther 2 is slated for release in 2022.
