After Matthew McConaughey's stunning revelation last week that he actually approached Marvel Studios about the idea of playing the Incredible Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have been beyond curious as to how the landscape of the MCU would've turned out to be had the Interstellar actor got what he wanted. In case you haven't been keeping up with the news lately, Marvel Studios rejected Matthew's proposition and the role ultimately ended up with Mark Ruffalo following Edward Norton's messy exit in 2008.

Now, artist Apexform is giving Matthew a little dose of that gamma radiation, transforming him into the Hulk. Sharing his epic artwork on Instagram, it imagines a world where Ruffalo's Bruce Banner does not exist. I gotta say, while it's still hard to imagine the Dallas Buyers Club as the green giant, his potential version of the iconic Marvel character looks hella menacing. See it for yourself below:

You know, I kinda feel bad for McConaughey considering the fact that he wasn't able to have things his way but hey, at the end of the day, it's still the studio that knows best when it comes to these superhero castings. I guess even though he wanted the part so bad, Matthew just wasn't destined to play the Hulk character but that's not to say that the door has been shut for him in the MCU for good. Who knows? Maybe, he's actually better suited to take on a different role in the franchise. Heck, he can even try his luck over at the DCEU and play an iconic hero or villain. The possibilities are endless.

Meanwhile, speaking of Bruce Banner, Disney+'s upcoming series She-Hulk is in active development.
