Much like its "rival" franchise the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe is also set to explore the wonders of the multiverse via Andy Muschietti's The Flash project. But long before the DCEU began toying with the idea of tapping into alternate worlds, most fans are aware that the Arrowverse did it first with its crossover events.

Speaking of, CW's Crisis on Infinite Earth's featured a fun and mindblowing encounter between two Flashes, Ezra Miller and Grant Gustin, and the scene was so well-received that it will reportedly get a redo in the 2022 film.

A new scoop from Illuminerdi suggests that Grant Gustin will return the favor by appearing in a cameo role in The Flash. No other details about his alleged casting were disclosed but it's safe to assume that Gustin's version of Barry Allen isn't going to play a major role in the film. If anything, it's probably just going to be a fan service kind of scenario which is always welcome in the DCEU.

Excitement is already brewing for The Flash and hopefully, it will be able to live up to the hype it's already generating. When you think about it, there's no reason for the project not to work considering you have guys like Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton set to make their respective presence felt in the film. Of course, WB's track record speaks for itself but if the studio will do minimal meddling with the project and allow its director to fully realize his vision, nothing will go wrong.

The Flash is slated for release on November 4, 2022.
