The DC Extended Universe is still considered a "hot mess" by a lot of fans but according to the latest rumors, Ezra Miller's standalone The Flash film will try to fix the franchise as a whole and potentially give it a soft reboot.

Not only that, but we already know that The Flash will be home to several fan service moments that will surely please a lot of DC fans. It's already been confirmed that the film will feature two Batmen in Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck. Rumors have been persistent that other cameos from notable DC actors could take place in the project.

In tipster Daniel Richtman's latest scoop, he claims that Arnold Schwarzenegger is in serious talks with Warner Bros. to reprise his role as Mr. Freeze in The Flash. We still don't know whether it will be the atrocious Batman & Robin version or an iteration of Victor Fries from a different timeline but Schwarzenegger making his grand DC comeback after the 1997 film's epic failure would be interesting, to say the least.

Arnold's potential return as the icy Batman villain could be a double-edged sword for the franchise. His take on the character is still regarded by many to this day as the worst comic book film villain of all time but this undoubtedly opens the door for the acting legend to redeem himself after all these years. Who knows, we might finally end up getting ourselves a definitive live-action, Mr. Freeze.

The Flash is slated for release in 2022.
