It's no secret to a lot of fans that Amber Heard is in a world of trouble as of late due to her personal scuffle with former husband Johnny Depp over accusations of domestic violence. But despite all the drama surrounding her private life, the Hollywood star's professional career seemingly continues to blossom but according to a persistent rumor, her days in the DC Extended Universe are in jeopardy and the controversial actress will begin feeling the effects as early as Aquaman 2.

It was previously being reported that Amber's relationship with Warner Bros. has gone sour with the latter adamant about reducing her role in the Aquaman sequel with current plans allegedly calling for her eventual dismissal as Mera. Now, in a new scoop from insider Daniel Richtman (via Patreon), WB may be having a change of heart with regard to keeping Heard in the DCEU.

Now, WB is reportedly willing to give Amber more screen time in the forthcoming DCEU flick which begins filming this Summer. In fact, it was the studio that "promise" Heard more exposure in the film and according to Richtman himself, "everything has cleared" and it's safe to assume that the actress is no longer in danger of getting axed.

Of course, take this one with a huge grain of salt because after all, Heard's legal battle with Depp is far from over and if anything, the final court ruling in their heated domestic violence case will be a deciding factor in their respective careers.

Aquaman 2 is hitting cinemas in December 2022.
