Production just kickstarted for Aquaman 2 with filming expected to begin in the coming weeks. Just last week, director James Wan broke the DCEU fandom in half as he finally unveiled the official title for the project — Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. As it stands, we still know very little about the project but given the fact that the first Aquaman film was a massive success both critically and financially, everyone behind the film is undoubtedly under extreme pressure right now to deliver.
Actress Amber Heard couldn't be more excited about the project and her return as Mera in the DC film franchise. Despite the controversies surrounding her personal life, Amber confirmed late last year that she's not going anywhere following several rumors that surfaced online claiming that Warner Bros. has removed her from the sequel.
Over the last couple of weeks, Heard has been actively hyping up Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on social media, and now, the ever-so-controversial star is letting everyone know that she's getting into shape for her grand comeback as Mera. Taking to Twitter, Amber posted a brand new training video and according to her, she's "absolutely dying". Check it out here:
Say what you will about Amber but she turned a lot of heads with her upgraded role in Zack Snyder's Justice League and while it's not considered canon to the DCEU, the actress' performance in the 4-hour director's cut of the film may have actually propelled her to even greater heights within the franchise. I wouldn't be surprised if Mera ends up being given a more significant role in Aquamanand the Lost Kingdom and right now, it's already safe to assume that the character actually will.
