Andor: Popular Rogue One Character Will Reportedly Appear in Star Wars Series

The Star Wars universe is in the midst of a massive expansion over at Disney+ all thanks to the success of The Mandalorian. As the Mandoverse continues to grow and expand, Lucasfilm is also busy working on other projects which are set in the franchise's earlier timeline. One of which is the standalone Andor series led by the returning Diego Luna. The upcoming project will chronicle Cassian Andor's humble beginnings leading up to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Director Orson Callan Krennic played by Ben Mendelsohn who was reportedly spotted filming in London last April. Now, the folks over at The Direct confirm that Mendelsohn will in fact reprise his villainous role in the series although the extent of his involvement is still unclear. Aside from him, Forest Whitaker's Saw Gerrera is also rumored to appear in the series.

There's no doubt that shows like Andor and Obi-Wan have left the door wide open for more spin-off series to hit Disney+ in the coming years and man, I'm pretty stoked about it. The future, or should I say "the past" of the entire Star Wars franchise just became a lot more intriguing. Who knows which other characters will get their own series somewhere down the line?

Andor hits Disney+ in 2022.
