There's no doubt that Lucasfilm is capitalizing on The Mandalorian's wave of momentum. The home of the Star Wars franchise found an opening on the show's success which gave them the opportunity to expand the universe even more. That's why it isn't all that surprising that they're working on a standalone Ahsoka Tano series starring Rosario Dawson.

As it stands, we still know very little about the Star Wars spinoff show but according to the folks over at Kessel Run Transmissions, Ahsoka will revolve around the famed Jedi Master's search for Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn. During her appearance in The Mandalorian Season 2, it was already teased that Tano is on the hunt for Thrawn and it looks like she has a score to settle with the menacing villain.

It has also been rumored that Ezra was set to appear in The Mandalorian but we never saw the Star Wars Rebels character debut on the show. Now, it's looking crystal clear that Ahsoka could potentially pick up where the character left off in "The Jedi" episode. Tano's motivation in seeking Thrawn is quite intriguing as they have never crossed paths in the Star Wars universe. I'm guessing Ahsoka knows that Thrawn could lead her to Ezra's whereabouts and that is why she's hell-bent on tracking down the iconic Rebels villain.

Other details about Ahsoka are still being kept under wraps.
