Watch Ray Park Perform Maul’s Mo-Cap for Star Wars: The Clone Wars

While Ray Park may have been the face of Darth Maul, Sam Witwer had taken over voice over duties for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. With Maul being one of the main antagonists for the Siege of Mandalore, it's been revealed that the show actually had Park come back to perform motion capture for Maul's duel.

Park's bit starts at 1:38:

Go behind the scenes of "The Phantom Apprentice" from the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars with executive producer Dave Filoni and other cast and crew, as they discuss Maul and Ahsoka's duel, plus more!

I have to say, I always thought that the animation for the fight scenes in The Clone Wars was a bit off; they just never seemed to move just like they did in the films. It's great that they actually got Park to come back and do some scenes for the action, and it really shows in the duel between Ahsoka and Maul.

For now, it looks like The Clone Wars will be Maul's final appearance in Star Wars. Of course, Solo was setting him up to be a major villain, but seeing as that film underperformed in the box office, our hopes for a sequel were dashed. With fans wanting to #MakeSolo2Happen, I'm crossing my fingers that Lucasfilm reconsiders down the line. Alden Ehrenreich was a fantastic Han Solo, and I'm sure that everyone would have loved to see Ray Park make a comeback as Maul in live-action.

For now, The Clone Was is gearing up for its final episode, and it comes out on Star Wars Day, May 4.
