Voice of the Cabbage Merchant from Avatar Wants to Reprise Role for Live-Action Series

While Avatar: The Last Airbender has some great central characters, it also has its fair share of fun side characters like Bosco the Bear or the Foaming Mouth guy from Kiyoshi Island. One other recurring character is the poor cabbage merchant that Team Avatar keeps running into, and what's fun is, CM's voice actor James Sie wants in on the live-action Netflix adaptation.

Talking to Slate, Sie shared that he would be up to play the role of the cabbage merchant in Netflix's live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series. When asked if he would play the part, he says, "Of course, now I'm more at the age of what the cabbage merchant was then. I will cultivate that little beard if they need me to. And because my face is quite expressive, I'm perfect for a live-action version of an animated show. I'm ready."

What's even great is that they even found a way to give us an update on the character in Legend of Korra. It's either the same merchant or his descendant who loses "Cabbage Corp." in the show:

At this point, we don't know how far along production Netflix's Avatar series is; we don't even have any news on casting. With creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko involved though, I'm sure they're going to add some fun Easter Eggs for fans, and there's plenty of room to have our favorite cabbage peddler on the show.

No release date has been set for Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender, but you can check out the original animated show now on the platform.
