Tom Holland Says Uncharted Production is ‘Everything I Dreamed it Would Be’

Besides starring as Peter Parker in Spider-Man, Tom Holland is set to helm another franchise for Sony in the form of the Uncharted adaptation. Production is currently ongoing for the film, and Holland gives us an update.

Holland had posted on his IG (via Fandom) that filming was ‘going so well for the film. He continues: 'The film is everything I dreamed it would be… I'm such a huge fan of the game. I do have the biggest bruise of all time though'.

While Robert Pattinson getting COVID had stopped the production of The Batman, it's great to see that things have been going swimmingly for the production of Uncharted. Admittedly, I'm still on the fence about the film, but it's good to think that Sony has made precautions to make sure everyone on the set is safe and healthy.

While the Nathan Drake we know in the games is a lot closer to Nathan Fillion than Tom Holland, the movie is said to be focused on the story of a younger Drake who then meets his mentor Sully (Mark Wahlberg). Though it's possible that this film would have its own continuity apart from the games, I'm hoping that they just use this film as an extension of the canon. After all, there are still a lot of blank spaces in Drake's story that the writers could add content to.

The Uncharted film is set to come out on July 16, 2021.
