With Robert Pattinson taking over the role of Batman, it has been assumed that his standalone film will exist in a world outside of the main DCEU. What's interesting is, this world could pretty much contain alternate versions of heroes like Wonder Woman and Superman.
Some set photos online have pointed out some characters in Wonder Woman and Superman costumes. You can check them out here.
We don't know what those costumes are doing in the film, but it's possible that these could just be Easter Eggs pertaining to the larger DC universe. Then again, if they do come front and center in the movie, it could be hinting that some version of the DC trinity exists in the world of The Batman. It's unclear what that will entail in the future, but it could help fuel the existence of a multi-verse for the DCEU canon—something that is expected to be tackled in the upcoming Flash solo film.
For now, The Batman has once again been given a major delay, being pushed from its Halloween release to mid-2022. While this is certainly a bummer for the fans, I would prefer that the film be delayed so we can be given the best movie possible. It's better than having something that comes out on time, but is full of compromises.
