Star Wars: Neat Easter Egg Makes Snoke Feel Less Useless to the Sequel Trilogy

Like it or not, Supreme Leader Snoke has been killed off in the sequel trilogy, and he never even got to be the big bad that a lot of people wanted him to become. What's interesting is, a fan has found a neat Easter Egg about Snoke that would make him feel less useless in the overall story of the sequels.

As it turns out, Snoke's monologue in The Force Awakens had included the titles of every sequel trilogy entry. Check it out:

I guess snoke was useful for one thing only

While I'm sure a lot of people are still holding on to Snoke not being dead, I was a big fan of how The Last Jedi had subverted expectations and killed of the ‘Emperor' character in the second film. To be honest, nobody was expecting him to die in the movie at all, so having Rey take him out and teaming up with Kylo was a shocker for everyone in the theater.

With the teaser for The Rise of Skywalker hinting at the return of Palpatine, I'm hoping this is just some clever form of misdirection as opposed to actually making him the villain again this time. If we can learn anything from the Fantastic Beasts films, I think it's ultimately better to forge new paths then to keep retreading legacies and rewriting old characters. Palpatine already had his day, and I kind of don't like the idea that there's just another bad guy pulling Kylo's strings.

Then again, what do I know?

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters Dec. 20.
