John Boyega Wants Poe to be a Playable Ground Hero in Star Wars Battlefront II, EA Responds

Star Wars Battlefront II has just recently given us a community transmission that goes into detail about the DLC expansion of Geonosis coming later this month. Interestingly enough, franchise star John Boyega is invested in the game, and he asks EA to bring Poe Dameron to the game as a ground hero. As it turns out, it may not happen anytime soon.

Boyega reveals that he's been wanting to play Poe in the game for a while and that they've been discussing ideas (possibly with Oscar Isaac) in-between filming Episode IX. EA, however, responds:

So far, the only playable heroes (at least on the ground) for the Resistance are Rey and Finn. Poe is also playable in the game, but only as a pilot. With Obi-Wan set to come out this month, DICE has already confirmed that Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku will be playable come February. There have also been hints at Ahsoka and Padme coming to the game.

Hopefully, with Star Wars Episode IX coming out next year, DICE might be able to bring in some more sequel trilogy characters. Besides a Poe on the ground, maybe we can have a playable Rose? How about Hux on the villain side of things?

Heck, I would settle for sequel trilogy skins for Leia, Luke, and Han.

For now, Battlefront II is gearing up for the release of Geonosis and Obi-Wan. Fingers crossed the community will be alive and well when Episode IX comes next year.

Star Wars Battlefront II is currently playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Star Wars Episode IX is slated for a release on Dec. 20, 2019.
