Spider-Man Actor Michael Mando Pitches His Ideas for a Scorpion Spinoff

Though he didn't get to do much in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel/Sony had done some great casting by having Michael Mando play the role of Scorpion. With characters like Venom and Morbius getting their own standalone films, Mando pitches his idea for a Scorpion spinoff.

When asked by ScreenRant about starring in his own Scorpion film, Mando says:

"I definitely would. I think that would be fascinating – a detective who goes rogue. Mac Gargan kind of goes a little bit insane, and there's also this other story where he becomes Venom as well. I think it's a very, very rich character; it's a dark character. And he's a cop at the end of the day; he's a detective. I think that'd be something that I would definitely be something I'd like to watch."

Personally, I'm not for these Spider-Man villain spinoffs, but I would love for Scorpion to have a more major part down the line. The last we see of him is in Homecoming where he plants the seeds for the Sinister Six, and it's possible that we could see his return come Morbius.

I cannot emphasize how much of a great actor Mando is, and I would definitely love to see him go up against Holland's Spider-Man as a major villain. You don't just get Nacho from Better Call Saul and make him someone's thug; did I also mention he plays Vaas in Far Cry 3?

For now, the next Sony spinoff coming out is Venom 2, and it hits theaters Oct. 2.
