Sigourney Weaver’s character Grace dies in the first Avatar film, but James Cameron is bringing her back for the upcoming sequels. Just in, we have our first look at Weaver and returning cast member Joel David Moore (Norm) from the set of the sequels.

Check them out:

For now, I think it’s safe to say that Grace’s part in the film is going to serve as a flashback. We don’t really know how far back the story is going to go, but I imagine that it will have something to do with the humans finding out more about the world of Pandora.

As for Norm, we know that he’s one of the few humans left on Pandora after they were all forced to leave, but it would make sense that he would share scenes with Grace, seeing as he was one of the more knowledgeable scientists when Jake Sully came along for the ride.

We don’t have an official plot on the sequel yet, but we do know that it will involve an expansion of the world of Pandora. With the first film focusing more on the skies, it’s said that this sequel will now delve into the underwater territory. We can only imagine what kind of creatures Cameron has in store for that part of the world.

The first sequel for Avatar is set to come out on Dec. 17, 2021.
