Scott Pilgrim vs. the World to Re-Release in Theaters

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary later this year, and yesterday director Edgar Wright had held a watch party for the film. What's interesting is, Scott and his kooky friends from Toronto are set to make a return to the big screen soon.

As announced by Wright himself, he's teamed up with Dolby Cinema and Universal to re-release Scott Pilgrim vs. The World in theaters. Here's the post:

We don't have a solid date for the release yet, but hopefully cinemas will be open by the time August comes around. As of now, everyone is still worried if July is too early for theaters to open, but it looks like it will be the earliest new movies can come out with films like Tenet and Mulan set to come out in that month.

Personally, I loved the Scott Pilgrim film, and I really thought that Edgar Wright had brought to life Bryan Lee O'Malley's comic in such a unique way. I'm sure a lot of fans are still heartbroken that we're never going to see this kind of style come to an Ant-Man film, but for now, Scott Pilgrim looks to be Wright's closest project that could be classified as a comic book movie.

Scott Pilgrim plays in a band which aspires to success. He dates Knives Chau, a high-school girl five years younger, and he hasn't recovered from being dumped by his former girlfriend, now a success with her own band. When Scott falls for Ramona Flowers, he has trouble breaking up with Knives and tries to romance Ramona. As if juggling two women wasn't enough, Ramona comes with baggage: seven ex-lovers, with each of whom Scott must do battle to the death in order to win Ramona.

No release date has been set for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, but hopefully it will come by August.
