Sailor Moon Takes Over the Internet with #SailorMoonRedraw Challenge

There are very few anime properties that manage to reach the same level of iconic as Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon, and for some reason, young Usagi Tsukino has taken over the internet with the #SailorMoonRedraw challenge.

Artists all over Twitter have been challenged to bring their original take on one frame from the show, and the results have been nothing but amazing:

Of course, there are also some artists who would prefer a more comedic twist on the challenge:

And some who are bringing styles from other anime into Sailor Moon:

Sailor Moon was at the height of its popularity back in the 90s, and Toei Animation had done a reboot of the show on the 20th anniversary with Sailor Moon Crystal. While Cyrstal was a reboot of the show, Toei's aim for the series was to make it more faithful to Takeuchi's manga.

The magical action-adventures of a teenage girl who learns of her destiny as the legendary warrior Sailor Moon and must band together with the other Sailor Scouts to defend the Earth and Galaxy. The story centers around an air-headed crybaby, named Usagi, and her friends Ami, Rei, Makato, and Minako.

As it stands, Crystal is still an ongoing show, and though the first two seasons had not been met with the best reviews, there has been a lot of improvement when it came to the third season. Season 3 of Sailor Moon Crystal had come out back in 2017, and as of now, people are still waiting on a continuation. We don't know exactly when that comes out, but I'm all in for a new generation to fall in love with the magic of Sailor Moon.
