Paul Sun-Hyung Lee Built Star Wars Costumes Before He was Cast in The Mandalorian

The second episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 had introduced us to Paul Sun-Hyung Lee's X-Wing pilot Carson Teva; and he made another appearance in last week's episode. While a lot of people know him for Kim's Convenience, Lee is actually a huge Star Wars fan and has been building costumes before he was cast on the show.

You don't have to dig too deep into his IG to find Lee posting himself in X-Wing, Imperial, and First Order garb.

In a recent interview with CBC, Lee actually explains that he got his role because of his connection with director Deborah Chow. In fact, Lee knows all the costumes he's built so well, that when he was being fitted for an outfit, he told the costumers, "If you guys don't mind, I've actually built this costume and I have on my phone meticulously curated photos of how it works."

Though Star Wars has its share of actors who don't really care about the franchise, it's really great when you get to watch someone onscreen that has the same love as the fans do. Lee continued, "I was five years old again… I got transported to that galaxy far, far away, [I've spent] my entire life watching the movies. To finally be there, to be sitting there, didn't want to leave."

We don't know when Captain Teva will make a return, but with him seemingly tracking the Mando, it would make sense for him to come back from time to time.
