Past Meets the Present in First Trailer for the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special

While The Mandalorian may be back on Disney+ now, Lucasfilm is set to get us into the holiday spirit with the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special. Just in, we have our first trailer for the special, and it's full of a lot of LEGO wackiness that you can expect.

Here's the official description:

"The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special" reunites Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie, Rose and the droids for a joyous feast on Life Day. Rey sets off on a new adventure with BB-8 to gain a deeper knowledge of the Force. At a mysterious Jedi Temple, she is hurled into a cross-timeline adventure through beloved moments in Star Wars cinematic history, coming into contact with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan and other iconic heroes and villains from all nine Skywalker saga films. But will she make it back in time for the Life Day feast and learn the true meaning of holiday spirit?

It's actually pretty clever that Lucasfilm decided to make the special with LEGO because this way fans won't have to start arguing about whether the story is canon or not. The great thing about it is that the characters seem very true to their real-life counterparts and it's great to see them interact with one another across multiple eras.

We don't know if this is going to be a yearly thing for Disney+, but I'm open for more holiday Star Wars specials if this one manages to be a success. Do you think they should bring back Robot Chicken Star Wars?

The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special comes to Disney+ on Nov. 17.
