Official Details for the Incoming Rise of Skywalker Update for Star Wars Battlefront II

Star Wars Battlefront II players have been teased for months about incoming The Rise of Skywalker content, and now an official community transmission has given us details on what to expect with the next expansion.

According to the official Battlefront forum, we're going to be getting a new jungle planet from TROS for the game, and it will be available for Co-Op and Heroes v Villains.

We are also not getting just two, but four new types of reinforcements. The First Order will get Sith Troopers and new Jet Troopers, the former being described as "a mericless trooper excelling in speed and advanced weaponry" with the latter said to have a "grenade-attachment enhanced blaster rifle" as platers "dodge, hover and maneuver through the air."

As for the Resistance, they're getting two new alien recruits described as the Gunner and Spy unit. We don't have any description on how those two will play yet, but we do get to meet the species in TROS as well.

Besides all that, we're finally getting some new skins for Rey, Kylo Ren, and Finn (finally). Fingers crossed we get old versions of Han, Luke, and Leia sometime next year.

Everything save for the new planet goes live on Dec. 17. The new map will be available on the day that The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on Dec. 20.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
