New Looks at Raiden and Scorpion for Mortal Kombat 11

NetherRealm studios is gearing up for a big reveal for Mortal Kombat 11 this week, and the hype is slowly building up to the live event on Jan. 17. Just in, we have new full looks at characters Raiden and Scorpion.

Check them out:

With the last Mortal Kombat game introducing us to a new generation of fighters, I'm wondering what's in store for the characters in MK11. So far, it looks like the game is banking on familiar characters like Scorpion, Raiden, and Shao Kahn, but we've also been teased this new bald woman character that I'm guessing is connected to Quan Chi in some way. It's only speculation on my part though.

It's been four years since the last Mortal Kombat game was released, and it looks like NetherRealm wants to go all out with the reveal. Ed Boon has teased a live show with special effects, and the second Scorpion appearing in the teaser could be a hint at some kind of multiverse story. I'm hoping it's not just some silly tease to alternate costumes. Maybe this game will be looking to explain why so many people keep dying and living with the MK games. Though the lore has gotten pretty serious over the years, I'm open for some silliness in the franchise, counting that the first games didn't take themselves too seriously.

Mortal Kombat 11 will be available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch, and is aiming for a release on April 23. Watch out for the big reveal this coming Jan. 17.
