MGS’ Hideo Kojima Gives Shazam! His Seal of Approval

Shazam! has been going on swimmingly in the box office, but it's expected to lose the spotlight once Avengers: Endgame hits theaters later this week. Just in, the movie just recently got a seal of approval from gaming legend Hideo Kojima.

This tweet was shared by Shazam! director David F. Sandberg:

With the DCEU in disarray after the release of Justice League, it's great to see the universe finally getting back on its feet with Aquaman and now Shazam!. We only have one other DC movie left for the year—Todd Phillips' Joker—and based on the trailer, it's going for something dark and interesting that the MCU hasn't even had the balls to attempt.

As for Kojima though, his game company is still working on the release of the highly anticipated Death Stranding. We don't know what the main plot of the game is yet, but knowing Kojima, he's looking to make the game with his signature creative style; add to that you get involvement from amazing actors like Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and Lea Seydoux. Heck, even director Guillermo del Toro is in this game.

No release date has been set for Kojima's Death Stranding, but a lot of fans are hoping we finally get it later this year—if not next year. Fans have been waiting for the release since 2016, and hopefully, it will all be worth it when DS finally comes out.

As for Shazam!, you can still watch it in theaters today.
