Kelly Marie Tran on Fan Reactions to Rose in The Rise of Skywalker

Probably one of the biggest criticisms against Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was the minimized role of Kelly Marie Tran's Rose Tico. While everyone wasn't pleased about how Rose was handled with Episode IX, MTV News has caught up with Tran to find out how she felt about her part.

Check it out:

If anything, Tran is being very diplomatic with her answer. It's no mystery that she was endlessly bullied online for her part of Rose, and it even led to her leaving social media. I'm sure she probably has some less flowery things to say, but for now, I guess she should be commended for taking the hits like a champ.

Though Rose didn't get the love she deserved in The Rise of Skywalker, some fans are now calling on Disney to make a Disney+ series about Rose. Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu even made his desire to direct it public on Twitter. We don't know if Disney is officially considering it, but I would definitely love for Rose to get the spotlight that she deserves.

If you ask me, they can do a full series on the Tico sisters and how they came to work for the Resistance. Then again, I'm open to a timeline after The Rise of Skywalker where we can follow Rose as the Resistance attempts to bring the galaxy back together.

For now, you can catch Rose in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker which hits digital March 26 and Blu-Ray/DVD on April 10.
