Is Dave Filoni Teasing the Future of Ahsoka Tano?

Star Wars Rebels left the fate of Ahsoka Tano open-ended with her and Sabine going off to find Ezra, but show creator Dave Filoni may tease that we could get some more stories of Ahsoka incoming. He shared this picture of her in the white robes plus it came with this captioned quote from J.R.R. Tolkien.

For now, Filoni has had a hand in directing the pilot for Jon Favreau's Star Wars: The Mandalorian and the show is expected to debut sometime next year. Interestingly enough, it was also Filoni's first time directing a live-action project. With his work on shows like Clone Wars and Rebels, Filoni could be one step closer to actually directing a full Star Wars film—just like some fans have been asking for.

I guess that Filoni is already done with his work for The Mandalorian, and with him not being too hands-on with Star Wars Resistance, I can imagine that he has the time to work on a follow-up to Ahsoka's story. We don't know if this is going to come in the form of an animation or a comic, but I'm excited either way.

What if Lucasfilm decides to dabble on animated films just like WB does with DC? They could even be a bit experimental when it comes to the animation style. I'm still holding my breath of a Star Wars series animated like The Legend of Korra or Voltron: Legendary Defender.

We don't know when this Ahsoka project is going to come out, but Star Wars: The Mandalorian is set or a release in the latter half of 2019.
