Ice Cube and MTV Reviving Celebrity Deathmatch

If you're a kid who grew up in the 90s, there's a good chance that you were able to catch Celebrity Deathmatch on MTV, a stop-motion animated show that pit real-life celebrities in fights to the death. The show was canceled in the early 2000s, but now news has it that MTV is planning on bringing it back.

As per Variety, MTV is planning on bringing back Celebrity Deathmatch with Ice Cube set to star. Cube is also attached as executive producer of the show, and original creator Eric Fogel is also set to run the show as well.

It's not clear how Cube is going to actually appear in the show, but I guess he's going to be one of the commentators. Originally, Deathmatch had fictional duo Johnny Gomez and Nick Diamond as the commentators, but I imagine the show might want to do something completely new.

Deathmatch actually attempted a revival back in 2006, but it didn't even last a year before it was canceled. With MTV being completely different than it was in the 90s, it's also possible that the revival won't be aired there at all. By the looks of it, I bet Deathmatch would be more at home in Adult Swim along with the likes of Rick and Morty, Robot Chicken, and Family Guy.

Hopefully, we get to see a revival that would entertain a whole new generation with cartoon violence. LET'S GET IT ON!

The Celebrity Deathmatch revival has no release date as of now.
