Hugh Jackman Rumored to Play Wolverine in Doctor Strange Sequel

It looks like Marvel is ready to take a step into multi-verses and it's very possible that Doctor Stephen Strange could be in the middle of it all. With Jamie Foxx's Electro making the multi-verse jump in Spider-Man 3, word has it that a Marvel Fox character could be in the Doctor Strange sequel.

According to insider Daniel Richtman (via @cosmic_marvel), word has it that Hugh Jackman will be reprising the role of Wolverine/Logan in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

With Logan being the best sendoff to the character, a lot of people think it would be a mistake for Jackman to reprise his role for another film. With the multi-verse concept being able to bend with time and space though, what are the odds that they can just say that the Logan that appears in the film is from a different timeline or from the past?

Personally, I'm fine with Wolverine making a small cameo. Heck, he could even appear alongside Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool, killing multiple birds with one stone; you get the Deadpool/Wolverine team-up, plus you also have the character appear in the MCU. There a bunch of other wins like Jackman once again playing Wolverine in his prime, but in the end, it's just going to be a huge box office draw.

For now, nothing official has been confirmed, but Marvel fans can certainly use some good news, what with cinemas being closed and 2020 having no MCU release whatsoever. Hopefully they can make it all back next year—if the pandemic has died down by then.

Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is set to come out on Nov. 5, 2021.
