Even Spider-Man: Far From Home Writers Want Kraven for the Sequel

Spider-Man: Far From Home director Jon Watts had recently revealed that he would want Kraven the Hunter to be the next villain for the Spider-Man franchise, and a lot of people agree that he might be the perfect baddie to face Peter next. What's interesting is, even the Far From Home writers are onboard with Kraven being the upcoming rogue.

Talking to ComicBook about the villain for the next film, co-writer Erik Sommers said, "I've always had a soft spot for Kraven the Hunter." Co-writer Chris McKenna continued with, "We read a lot of [Spider-Man's] comics that were fun… There were some really great storylines with him. Spot seems like a really cool villain."

Even then, the two still don't have any say on who the next villain should be, as they've confirmed that Sony has yet to hire them to come back for the next movie. Even the writers from Spider-Man: Homecoming Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley weren't asked to come back for the sequel. Sommers and McKenna have been involved since the beginning though, so I bet they're still coming back for a third movie.

As it stands, Sony was said to be prepping a Kraven the Hunter spinoff film, but fans saw Watts' comments as a way to get Sony to stop making their spinoffs and just focus on their MCU Spidey. Venom was kind of a critical disaster and Morbius is already in production. I don't think it's too late to just put all the focus on Tom Holland's Spider-Man and spinoffs to Into the Spider-Verse.

For now, catch Spider-Man: Far From Home in theaters today.
