While Doug Liman's Chaos Walking finally has a release date, a lot of people are curious when he's going to start work on the sequel to Edge of Tomorrow—Live Die Repeat and Repeat. As it turns out, the script is actually done, and one of the main stars, Emily Blunt, gives us a small update.

Talking to THR, Blunt was asked about the state of the script of Live Die Repeat and Repeat, and she said:

"Yes, it's really promising and really, really cool. I just don't know when everything's going to sort of aligning, you know what I mean? Between all of our schedules, it would just have to be the right time. But there is something in the works, for sure, that's a great idea. A great idea."

With Edge of Tomorrow being a sleeper hit in 2014, it didn't make sense for WB to immediately jump in on the idea of a sequel; then again, with the way critics loved the film, development still went on. With COVID-19 expected to start dying down next year, a lot are hoping that Live Die Repeat and Repeat is finally going to start rolling cameras in 2021.

Personally, I thought the film was well-contained in itself, and I don't know where a spinoff could go. This is just my pitch for the sequel/prequel, but maybe they should focus on the character of Rita this time around when she got her powers, and maybe Cruise can be the one to show her the ropes this time. I'll admit, there are probably a lot more stories that they could go for, but it would be great if they had a sequel that is closely tied to the first film.

No release date has been set for Live Die Repeat and Repeat, but you can catch Liman's Chaos Walking which hits theaters on January 22, 2021.
