Disenchantment Goes Steampunk in New Trailer for Part 2

Netflix had teamed up with Matt Groening for their animated show Disenchantment, and the first part of the first season came out last year. Now the streaming service is gearing up for the second part of season 1, and we have a full trailer.

High-spirited Princess Bean walks through hell to save a friend, learns about a mystical destiny set for her, and helps restore her father's kingdom.

What's interesting is the second season looks to be undergoing a shift in genre. With the first half being all about magic and fantasy, the second half looks to be introducing a very "steampunk" inspired world, and it's even starting to look like Rapture from Bioshock. We don't know if this is going to be a one-off episode, but it's a crossover I never expected to come to the show.

Besides the main trio of Bean, Luci, and Elfo finding a way to bring Elfo back to life, it looks like Bean's father Zog is going to undergo some kind of character development as well. The show has usually shown him off as a lazy ruler, but there are some clips in the trailer where you actually see him in action.

Admittedly, Disenchantment has been met with mixed reviews, but some believe that the show is still trying to find its footing. With the second part set to come out, let's hope Groening and his team have turned Disenchantment into a must-watch.

Catch the second half of Disenchantment when it hits Netflix on Sept. 20.
