Could The Mandalorian Season 2 Bring Us to the Jedi Planet Ilum?

Disney had dropped the new trailer for The Mandalorian Season 2 out of nowhere, and we should expect the internet to try and dig for Easter Eggs in the video over the next few weeks. With the first season bringing us back to familiar places, it's very possible that we could be coming back to the Jedi planet of Ilum.

Fans speculate that the snowy terrain that Mando and Baby Yoda are in is the planet of Ilum:

With the Jedi being mentioned in the trailer, it's possible that Mando could be looking for remaining Jedi in the system, and a good place to look first would be the planet that provided them with Kyber crystals.

What's actually sad is, the canon has made it so that Ilum was actually repurposed by the First Order as Starkiller Base, and we saw the ancient Jedi planet destroyed in The Force Awakens. Though the destruction of Ilum is a bummer, I think this could be a chance for The Mandalorian to further connect the Empire with the First Order; what if he goes to the planet in search of Jedi, but instead finds the Imperial remnant there already beginning the conversion of the planet into Starkiller Base?

It's the perfect set-up, and it's likely that the troopers we see in the trailer are already on the planet Ilum. Then again, this is just speculation on my part. I'm still up for completely new planets and plot points that no one has been able to guess.

For now, we wait for The Mandalorian Season 2 to come to Disney+ on Oct. 30.
