Avengers' Mark Ruffalo Being Eyed to Star in HBO's Parasite Series

The internet is currently buzzing after Bong Joon Ho had won Best Picture for Parasite, and what's interesting is that HBO actually wants to expand the story into a miniseries. What's more, they want this Marvel Studios vet to star in the film.

According to Collider, Mark Ruffalo is being eyed to star as one of the leads in a Parasite miniseries. We don't have any official confirmation on the role Ruffalo is being eyed for, but we do know that the leads tend to be cast first. We don't have any news from Ruffalo himself, but I can imagine him working on the project eventually.

As it turns out, Bong had actually a lot of ideas for Parasite that didn't end up in the film. He says, "I had all these key ideas accumulated from when I started writing the script. I just couldn't include all those ideas in the two-hour running time of the film, so they're all stored in my iPad and my goal with this limited series is to create a six-hour-long film."

With the movie already succeeding on its own, I wonder why Bong would want to revisit it with a full series. Does he want to retell the story, or does he seek to expand it? While I'm a believer of ‘Don't fix what isn't broken,' Bong must have something special in mind if he wants to pursue a series.

No release date has been set for HBO's Parasite.
