Ever since fans pointed out that he would be perfect for the role, Stephen Lang (Avatar) has been campaigning for the role of Nathan Summers a.k.a. Cable in Deadpool 2. He honestly looks the part, but it looks like he’s bowing out of the running because his schedule is full for the year.

Lang wrote on his Twitter:

A lot of actors are actually considered for the role of Cable, and the names that have popped up so far are David Harbour, Russell Crowe, Kyle Chandler, Ron Perlman, Liam Neeson, and Pierce Brosnan. Shame they had to pass on Lang though. At 64-years-old, he is one buff old man.

Deadpool 2 is still in pre-production stages, so no official synopsis has been revealed for the movie. What we do know so far is that it will be directed by John Wick’s David Leitch, Ryan Reynolds will return with Zazie Beetz playing Domino, and the movie is set for a release early next year.
