Mortal Kombat 11 Adds Another 80s Icon as a Playable Character

Mortal Kombat has been having fun with 80s icons and the likes of the Terminator and Robocop have been playable characters in MK 11. What's great is, NetherRealm has just done one big character reveal, and a surprise 80s action hero has joined the ranks of the game.

To everyone's surprise John Rambo is going to be a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11 and not only did they get the likeness for Sylvester Stallone, but Sly himself is also said to be providing the voice for the character in the game.

We don't know how Rambo plays in MK11 yet, but I imagine it's going to be an arsenal of guns and knives. Like the other playable 80s movie icons, I'm sure he'll also come with a moveslist that is chock-full of references to past films.

Besides Rambo, the game has also confirmed the arrival of two classic characters, Rain and Mileena. While Rain has been speculated for a while, fan-favorite Mileena has been a character that a lot have been asking for. Hopefully now people can stop bothering game director Ed Boon about putting her in the game.

This reveal also comes with the announcement of Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate which will include this Kombat Pack as well as the previous one; plus the campaign DLC Aftermath. It's also worth mentioning that owning the game for the PS4 already guarantees a free upgrade for the PS5 version.

No release date has been announced for Kombat Pack 2, but you can pre-order on Oct. 16. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate launches for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox Series X|S on Nov. 17.
