What Will Smith's Cartoon-Accurate Genie In Aladdin Could Look Like

Disney had just recently given us a full look at the live-action Aladdin, and a lot of fans were a tad disappointed that Will Smith didn't look like the original blue version in the classic animated film. It's been said by Smith himself that his Genie will be blue in the movie, and it's possible we have some concept art of what he could look like.

This was shared by The DisnInsider's Skuler Shuler:

I'm sure more people will be pleased with this one, seeing that he looks very close to the animated Genie. I guess the only difference is that he has Will Smith's face and he also comes with a gold necklace.

When it comes to these Disney live-action remakes, you can never expect them to be fully faithful to the cartoon. The live-action film will always have more intricate designs and outfits. Plus, if everything was exactly the same as the original, why bother with the remake at all?

Personally, I was fine with Genie taking on a more human form in the film (they did the same for him in the live-action play). I guess it's just cool that Disney would go the extra mile and give us something more accurate to the original source. Of course, if they didn't, I'm sure a huge chunk of fans with too much free time will do nothing but trash on the film long after it has come out.

Catch Aladdin in theaters May 24.
